The children enjoyed various traffic light activities and small world play and we also had a visit from a lovely lollypop lady who spoke to children about being safe when crossing the road. The children got to have a go at holding her stop stick which they enjoyed.

Another wet and windy week has gone but our children were less than discouraged by the weather! Quite the opposite – they have had a lot of fun activities on offer and enjoyed them throughout the week. Here are some pictures of what was planned out.
Last week’s topic was Teddy Bears. We held teddy bears’ picnics on a few occasion and will carry on with this topic for the rest of the month. We will be learning about different types bears using best known books including “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen. Also, please see some of our lovely activities linked to the topic and more from this week.
Last week, we concluded the topic of Dinosaurs. The children have had a chance to use their knowledge and interests in dinosaurs in all of the learning areas. Alongside dinosaurs we have also been growing runner beans and sunflowers which we will carry on next week. We would like to thank Lacey’s mummy for arranging our tadpole delivery. Some of the children went to the local pond to get some water to make a lovely natural environment for out tadpoles. The children are very interested in them and checking on them every day hoping to see the frogs.
We have carried on with the dinosaur interest, and this week, we have been using brushes to uncover dino fossils, measured the size of dinosaurs and used vinegar in pipettes to make fizzy science dinosaurs. In our messy play, we experimented with ice dinosaur bones, and the children enjoyed dino jungle play in the large tray as well as making big dino eggs out of balloons and paper mache.
