We also have some tadpoles for the children to watch grow. Watching the animals grow and change encourages children’s communication and language as well as understanding of the world and personal, social and emotional skills.
Today we had a very special visit from some police officers. They spoke to the children about emergencies and how the police can help them. The children got to sit in the police car and look at all the equipment. We even had a chance to listen to the sirens.
We have been having so much fun at preschool, especially last week, with the lovely weather. The children took full advantage, and we had lots of lovely activities set up, including potion making, making daffodils and phonics and maths activities. This week, we are celebrating Easter with some Easter crafts and stories.
The children have been really enjoying construction. So we based a lot of our activities on this topic, bringing in other areas of the EYFS like maths and literacy. We have also been working on our fine motor skills, imagination and exploration.
And last week, we continued having lots of fun activities based on some of the children’s favourite books. Thanks to everyone who dressed up and brought in their favourite book from home to share with their friends!

This week, we have been feeling the love! We have talked about what we love about each other and ourselves as well as making love potions having sensory play.
We had lots of fun at pre school in January – we went on fun discovery walks in the village where we spotted donkeys, cows and sheep. Our magnifying glasses also helped us to find some smaller creatures and we have enjoyed talking about what we found. In the hall, we had activities about eye health and real food added to our home corner
We have been having so much fun in pre school – last week, we celebrated Chinese New Year. We had a role play restaurant, tasted some Chinese food and talked about Tigers.
This week in preschool, we have started our Christmas festivities! We have been making Christmas trees and stockings, playing with snow and begun practicing our singing for the Christmas concert.
