The Committe will be holding a Garden Maintenance day on Saturday, July 20th from 10am, where the outdoor equipment will be given a lick of paint and some general garden maintenance carried out. All support on the day would be greatly appreciated so rope in the grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends (you don’t need to be green fingered). We are also looking for donations of any wood stain (natural wood coloured please as we would like to keep the natural look of our woodlands), paint brushes and any other equipment that will help us enhance our amazing woodlands.

We will of course make sure that everyone is well looked after and are proposing to provide bacon sarnies for lunch. So please let Jo or Carley, committee chair, know if you are able to help on the day.

We will be visiting Wellies-On Care Farm on Thursday, May 2 for a farm tour from 10am to 12. Our tour will include:

  • Meeting and feeding dairy goats
  • A talk about the dairy herd and how the milk is used on the farm
  • Chicken handling and talk
  • Meeting the pygmy goats
  • Feeding the farm pigs
  • Meeting the ponies.

We will be meeting at the farm at 9.45am. Please make sure that you and your child are dressed appropriately in old clothes appropriate to the weather. It is important to wear sturdy shoes/boots or wellies during the visit.

There is a register available at pre school so please ensure that you register your attendance in advance, and don’t forget to bring a packed lunch for your child and yourself for our picnic afterwards.

We would like to invite you to spend some time with your child at pre school on Thursday, April 4th from 9am to 11am. We will be offering some Easter craft for you to get involved in with your child, have a play with your child and join in our activities. There will also be an Easter egg hunt in the woodlands.

It’s World Book Day on Thursday, March 7. We would love to see the children dressed up as their favourite book character and/or share their favourite book with us!

Please come along for an informal chat with your child’s key person and all staff (no need to book an appointment), as well as having some fun and exploring what the children do everyday for their learning and development.

We will again be operating an appointment system to reduce your potential waiting time. Please ensure that you book an appointment in with your child’s key worker prior to parent evening. Melanie will have the appointments available after the Easter holidays.

As a committee run pre school, we urgently need more committee members who are current pre school children’s parents to join the committee. Without new members joining the committee and taking on roles within the committee, we will not be able to run the pre school going forward. There are currently a number of members filling roles whose children have left pre school and who are looking to now leave the committee. The committee has overall responsibility for the pre school and it is your opportunity to help shape the pre school’s future. The AGM is a perfect opportunity to find out about what the committee does and for you to get involved.

12.00noon – approx. 2.30pm. The pre school committee have organised a Christmas party held by Island Inflatables to be held after the morning session. There will be a party lunch, music and games, and even a visit from Santa himself!

This year’s Christmas play will be held at 11.30am (children to be dropped off at 11.00am to get changed into their costumes), and will be followed by the now traditional lunch of jacket potatoes and our fete where we will draw the raffle and offer stalls. Please come along and enjoy the children’s play as well as supporting the pre school’s fundraising!
