This Week – Science & Diwali

This week at preschool, we are continuing with our Science theme and celebrating Diwali. We have an exciting science lab set up for the children to explore, as well as various sensory activities.

Last Week – Remembrance

Last week, we learned about Remembrance day and painted poppies. We also enjoyed various science activities, including; space, sinking and floating, magnets and exploring natural items. This encourages children’s problem solving, curiosity and communication and language skills.

This Week – Halloween

This Week – Autumn

For the next couple of weeks, we will be focusing on Autumn and Harvest. We have some lovely activities, including chocolate playdough, conker mark making, making stick men, and ‘On the Farm’ tuff tray. These activities ensure the children are covering every aspect of the curriculum through play and encouraging all of their next steps.

For the next 2 weeks we are focusing on recycling, we’re talking about what we recycle and how we do it. We’re also using different materials to build models.

This Week

This week, we have a Cafe in our role play area, a musical instrument Tuff tray, new balancing beams/games and are playing with our new fire station. Outside, our new musical wall has been popular with the the children and they have loved exploring different sounds using the instruments on offer 🥁🎺🎸🎷

This Week

This week we have the hospital role play, lots of lovely small world and different construction. We have also been working on our wellbeing area in the garden, with wind chimes, cds and sensory herbs. If anyone has any wind chimes they no longer want, we would love to have a few more. Thank you.

This Week – Holi Festival

This week in preschool, we are celebrating the Hindu festival of colour Holi by getting very messy with lots of colours. We are also learning all about the colour monster and his feelings!

Saturday, April 25th – Pre-Loved Sale

We will be holding Baby and Children’s Pre-Loved Sale in the village hall on Saturday, April 25th form 10am – 12noon. Stalls are available at a cost of £10 for private sellers and £15 for businesses from pre school or by emailing fundraising@romanriverpreschool.co.uk. Come along and shop for some bargains, only £1 entry with all raised funds going towards pre school resources! Refreshments available to purchase on the day too.
